KH Giving Founding Principles:
1. Creating jobs that pay a living wage. All of our contractors are paid $20-$40 an hour (with bonuses) and have the opportunity to make their own schedules. (Closed Saturdays & Sundays to promote wellness and balance.)
2. Immediately inject funds into local businesses and restaurants by using a portion of the proceeds of sales sales to purchase gift cards and merchandise from the establishments. These gift cards and the merchandise are then given away in multiple raffles to promote the businesses.
3. Donating 10% of our proceeds to a local shelter or food bank. United Community's food pantry was selected as our recipient in Alexandria. Over $7,000 worth of cash donations, COVID-19 antibacterial cleaning supplies, and our cotton masks have been delivered and distributed by United Community as of June 7, 2020.
This support assists the highest at-risk population in Alexandria.
Mission Masks (the founding project of KH Giving) began in March 2020 to provide the general public with personal protective equipment through the nationwide shortage of PPE during the Coronavirus Pandemic.
We are currently operating in the Washington, DC area with expansion plans to Pittsburgh, PA and Austin, TX.
Mission Masks by KH Giving ships through the continental United States and is proud to be partnered with Artistic Artifacts of Alexandria, Virginia. Artistic Artifacts provides the beautiful fabrics and notions to our mask team.
Another of our selected partners is United Community that operates the largest food pantry serving the Route One Corridor. In March alone, they provided more than 2400 meals to families impacted by COVID-19.
Located at 7511 Fordson Road, United Community continues to provide food and diapers to families in need.
